Best Picture award for “Almas Perdidas” (“Lost Souls”)



The “Zaragoza Film Festival” gives the Best Picture award to Julio Cedrón, for his work on  “Almas Perdidas”(“Lost Souls”). This shortfilm has been selected in several Film Festivals (Chicago, Bogotá, Madrid, Sevilla, Villarreal, Villacañas and Gran Canaria, among other festivals). Also, this shortfilm has been given more than five awards in other categories and festivals.


This shortfilm, which has been directed by Julio de la Fuente and co-produced by DP, has been shot in full HD by with the PDW-700 camera, which belongs to the Sony´s XDCAM family.


This shortfilm tells about a emotional love story between two youngsters from the coastal fishing town of Cudillero, which is located in the North of Spain. This story takes place in the early years of the 20th Century. Some of its main actors and actresses are: Fernando Marlon (El Orfanato), Gorka Moreno (Planta cuarta), María Cotiello (Amar en tiempos revueltos), Alberto Rodríguez (La Marquesina), Adriano Prieto (La torre de Suso), Gloria García (Crónica de una voluntad) y José Luis San Martín (Oviedo Express).


It must be emphasized that this shortfilm has been shown under a XDCAM format in a cinema with a big 2.35:1 screen.
